Management Team

Michael P. Harakal III, Executive Director

Mike P Harakal III

Michael Harakal III is a senior business and IT executive who has structured and negotiated multi-million dollar, multi-year initiatives with a passionate entrepreneurial mindset, particularly in the area of helping important causes. As the business and technical force behind Sparhawk Corporation, Mike has drawn on his broad and in-depth experience in strategic planning, eCommerce, business development, P&L management, business and marketing plan creation and implementation, and support of global business units. A graduate of Cornell University, Mike’s solid business management, interpersonal skill and insight comes from extensive experience in building long-term client and employee relationships in business development, sales and general management, including managing a staff of 1000+ worldwide.

Mike also has extensive knowledge in the design and development for software programs, systems infrastructure, databases, main¬frame and operating systems, programming, telecommunications and the Internet. He has conducted comprehensive technical assessments of existing operations, established business and technical strategies and direction, and built cohesive infrastructure while supporting the launch of new technology-based ventures. Other successful projects include building IT infrastructures for call centers, telecommunications networks, information processing systems and Internet-based businesses.

Michael P. Harakal Jr., CEO

A past two-term Township Executive in Whitehall, PA, Mike Harakal Jr. has over 30 years experience as a leader in government and business development. Mike Harakal Jr. has held positions including president of the Whitehall Township Planning Commission and director of the Whitehall Township Library Board. He was also a member of the PA DEP Solid Waste Advisory Committee, the Lehigh County Planning commission, the League of Cities Telecommunications sub committee, as well as a member and contributor to numerous PA League of Cities committees. Mike Harakal Jr. was also the Chair of the Pennsylvania Home Rule Charter work group. In addition to these government positions, he founded and now owns and directs Court Authority Volleyball Academy and was the U.S. Volleyball regional Junior Volleyball Director for the Keystone Region.

James R. Culp, Director, Finance

As a business man who has spent over a decade securing, negotiating and managing a diversified portfolio of multi-million dollar land and real estate dealings, Mr. Culp brings to Sparhawk a long, successful track record and array of talents in finance and investment management.

Denise M. Kozuch, Director, Client Services

In addition to extensive sales experience, Denise Kozuch has many years of experience and knowledge in IT platforms and operating systems, graphics and Web design. In addition, Ms. Kozuch has many decades of experience in outside sales in commercial and federal markets working in channel, account and project management.

As a senior director of sales, marketing and operations for Jamaica Call Centers Limited / Eturnis Software, Ms. Kozuch was responsible for sales, marketing and operations of three inbound/outbound call centers and a software development/Web development company in the Caribbean and Europe, with two additional call centers and offices under development/construction offshore. In addition, her responsibilities included P&L, developing and implementing corporate sales plans, forecasting sales activities, defining the objectives of turnover, volumes, margins and budgets, managing the pricing structure for all products and the introduction and maintaining of the distribution of complete product line.

Ms. Kozuch was also a senior account executive for Brainbench, where she ranked as the #1 salesperson for most of her tenure in selling Web-based skills testing services, certification database, Learning Management Systems integration and Corporate Skills Certification programs to Fortune 1000 clients. At Brainbench, she dramatically expanded their client base by generating leads, qualifying prospects, cold calling, presenting, demonstrating, negotiating and closing. She cultivated positive client-centered relationships to grow more repeat business and produce sales increases in excess of 35% per annum.

Ms. Kozuch was also a senior project manager for EDS, where she supervised staff of 20 direct-report leaders and 300 telesales professionals, and directed the opening of new offices for call center operations, quality assurance, behavioral and cultural diversity implementation, and customer satisfaction for which she receive numerous awards from EDS clients like AT&T.

Thomas M. Rocca; Client Services, Sales & Marketing, Process Analysis

Tom Rocca

Tom Rocca is president of KPI Group, headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia. He has over 25 years in customer service and sales technology re-engineering for call centers. He keeps a continual focus on “staying compliant” on all federal and state call center rulings. Mr. Rocca and KPI Group provides Sparhawk with outsource partner selection, RFP development and management, technology selection and contract negotiation, call center auditing, best practices and sales process flow analysis, sales and service performance enhancement (KPI’s), and federal, state and insurance compliance management.

Mr. Rocca has been an active member of the American Teleservices Association (ATA) since 1987 and currently serves as a past chairman and sits on the national board of directors. Since 1990, he has also been an active member of SOCAP International / Society of Consumer Affairs Professionals and is the past president of the Georgia chapter. He also serves on ICSA’s (International Customer Service Association) Georgia chapter Board of Directors in Atlanta.

As an industry expert, Mr. Rocca is a frequent speaker at regional customer service and consumer affairs seminars focused on contact center technologies and legislative updates. He has written many articles and participated in numerous speaking engagements on “Trends and Facts on Consumer Contact Center Technologies,” “Industry Legislative Update,” “Choosing an Outsourcing Partner” and “Compliance in an Evolving Contact Center Environment.”
